Taking The Lead Ain't Always Easy

All of my life I have been more of a leader than a follower. Not to say that I have always been a "good " leader but last week I decided to change that and try to start leading by example. I need to be a Christian every minute of everyday no matter what curve balls life throws me. It didn't take me long to realize that it is not always easy to set a good example. I really had to pay attention to everything I said and did. When waiting in line I had to remember to be patient, not react when someone was rude to me, or not to get upset when things did not go as I had hoped. I can say that it was probably a good thing I was not in any traffic this week. I think that would have been the ultimate test. lol Now I was not perfect this week by no means. There were a few times I had to apologize for not setting the example I should have. I guess some of those old habits are hard to break. Good thing we don't have to be perfect right?

You know that saying you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Well I never really took it to heart because it was just always easier to use vinegar than honey. It is a lot easier to be mean to someone who has hurt you rather than be nice to them. It really takes a lot of self control and willpower to be able to do the right thing. Especially, being nice to someone who has hurt you. Joyce Meyers was just saying the other day, when someone gets the promotion you deserved by making you look bad, congratulate them. When they come in late the next day because their car broke down offer to give them a ride home. DO WHAT?? Did she just say take them home??? Whew if that isn't an example of loving your enemy then I don't know what is.

Basically, the point that I am trying to make is this....it is always easier to be bitter and hold a grudge than to forgive and forget. Until we can forgive those who have done us wrong, God will not be able to forgive us. There will always be a wall there. A wall that can cause you to not continue to grow spiritually and become closer to God. So next week I have decided to work on forgiveness. I know this week will be a hard one. I have tons of questions about forgiveness that I hope to find answers to.

If you have bitterness toward someone and you have not been able to forgive them, I encourage you to work on that this week with me. Lets dig deep and learn how to forgive and forget. Learn how to love our enemies!!! So we can truly lead by example. ; )

Hope everyone has a great week!!!

Hugs & Prayers,

Kimberly
