Getting Ready For #4

I guess 4 was the magic number for this party. Not only was it Hannah's 4th birthday but it also took me 4 times to get this monkey cake right. lol

Three tier cupcake stand

I could not find a cake/cupcake stand that I like so I decided last minute to make one. I found these silver serving trays at Party City for around a $1 a piece. Then covered each tray with white wrapping paper I found at the Dollar Tree. To separate the trays, I used a can of corn and a can of green beans. (Yes, I did just say I used some veggies to hold up my cake lol) You want to make sure the bottom can is larger than the top one. Then wrap the cans with the left over wrapping paper and there ya go. One redneck cake stand complete for under $6 plus a can of corn and green beans for your pantry.

Print at home birthday banner. Super cute and easy to make!

Cupcake Wrappers & Toppers

For the toppers, you take a candy stick (find in the candy making aisle at any craft store) and hot glue the scalloped circle to the back and the mod monkey to the front. I used a 2" scalloped paper punch that I found at Hobby Lobby. These are so inexpensive and really help tie in your cupcakes to your party theme!!

Water Bottle labels are all the rage right now so I decided to give them a try. I LOVED them!! Not only did they add to the decor of the table but they were also an inexpensive beverage option.

Plates, Cups, & Napkins

Last year I came up with this trick when I could not find pink and brown cowgirl plates. It is such an inexpensive way of personalizing your party plates! I lucked up and found matching cups and napkins at Hobby Lobby. For the cups I bought 2" stickers off ebay and printed the same decal as the plates.

I was super excited when I found Michael Miller fabric (disco dots sorbet) for Hannah's birthday outfit! It matched the mod monkey theme perfectly! I knew in my mind what I wanted her outfit to look like but could not find a pattern. So I ended up altering an old pattern that I already had to come up with the three tier tulle skirt. ; )

Since I had some left over fabric, I decided to make her a matching apron too.

Ok, I do not know what I was thinking when I decided to monogram all of the kids an apron and place mat for the party. lol Actually, the aprons were pretty easy it was the place mats that took FOREVER!!! I purchased the aprons from Hobby Lobby, monogrammed them, and added the trim. The place mats I found at the Dollar Tree. They both worked out great!
