I just recently finished redecorating my guest bedroom. I only had $1000 in the budget so I had to get creative to make it happen. First I started with the paint color. I knew that I wanted to do black & white with a bright accent color. So I decided to go with a guacamole green. I had a picture in my mind of what I wanted the room to look like so after I got it painted I headed off to my favorite home decor store. TJ Maxx's Home Good Store. There I found that great lamp, black night stands, upholstered chair, and a duvet cover with matching shams.

Here is the lamp I found. When I bought it the shade was red so I covered it with fabric to match the curtains and a green tie to bring in the quilt and throw pillows. The lamps were $40 each.

I was actually looking for a comforter set but found this duvet cover instead. It was just almost exactly what I had pictured but was just missing something. So I decided to monogram the pillow shams. The duvet set was $50 where a comforter set would run $150 and up. So it was a great deal! The bed I picked up from American Signature for $188, the mattress and box springs from FMO for $300, the night stands from TJ Maxx for $54 each, the coverlet and matching shams from Target for $25
I ran across this mirror at Old Time Pottery for $80. I loved it but it was the wrong color so I grabbed some black spray paint and there ya go!
I found this awesome chair at TJ Maxx for $125. It was just perfect with the silver thumb tacks around the bottom of the chair.
I had some extra fabric left over from the tie backs so I decided to make a throw pillow. It only cost $1.
