We wanted to remember the reason for the season, so we started our Christmas off by attending a candle light service at our church. What a wonderful message Allen delivered and the candles were just absolutely beautiful. After church we had a wonderful dinner at Carrabba's. Then home to open presents!!!!!
When I was a kid growing up, my mom and dad always let us open one present on Christmas eve. Since we had to be at mom and dads at 8:30 Christmas morning for breakfast, I convinced Paul (Mr. Don't Open Till Christmas) to go ahead and do all of our Christmas on Christmas eve. (except Santa's presents of course) Although I had to agree to not open one present early for the next two years. Now for those of you who know me, that will be one agreement that will be hard to keep! I am worse than a kid when it comes to surprises. I have always been the one that is under the tree shaking boxes, peeking through the cracks just to get some kind of clue to what I am getting!
It was so much fun watching Hannah open her presents. Here she is opening up her first American girl doll that her Nana & Grandpa got for her. She is so into baby dolls right now, so I couldn't get it out of the box fast enough for her.
Now didn't I just say that you can't surprise me. Well, since I was caught on camera, I have to admit that this year Paul did surprise me! I just knew after intensely analyzing one of my presents that it was a pink CHI. So much to my surprise when I opened my present it wasn't the pink CHI that I anticipated it was a much better present! He got me software for my embroidery machine that I so desperately needed! Thank you sweetie. I have the best hubby in the world!!!!
