Gift set for baby Ellie.
I just finished making a gift set for a friend of my moms. This was my first experience making a bucket bag. I tell ya what an experience that was! It said on the pattern to put interfacing on all the pieces, so I asked a friend (thank you Robin) to make sure that they really meant ALL the pieces. So I did as instructed and oh my goodness. That is one sturdy diaper bag. It was so thick in some places that my needle would not even go through all the material. I think next time I will have to use a thinner interfacing, but overall I was pretty pleased with how easy the pattern was. I hope Libby will enjoy it.
Monogrammed burp cloths
A big thanks to Lacey for the flower alphabet that she gave me for my birthday, it stitched great! Although the thread does not match at all, I love the design. It was so weird when I held the thread up to the fabric it matched, then when I stitched it, it totally did not match! Very strange. Anyway I told mom that she had to let them know that it was a mess up and that the ONLY reason I included it was because I hated to throw it away. : )
Vinyl bib and changing pad
This was the first time I had sewn of vinyl, so there was some frustration when my foot kept sticking. So after trying and trying with no success. I googled how to sew on vinyl and one very smart lady suggested laying tissue paper over the vinyl as you sew and then tear it away when you are done. It worked great! I have a feeling this will be my new thing! I just love it especially for the changing pad.

I love this set. Too cute. The fabric is great and so is the bag. I don't know if you know this, but a little hint on the thread...unravel a small section from the roll to compare it to the fabric. That way it doesn't end up too dark or too light. My mom taught me that one.
